Rebuilding Bleached Hair, In Order
Share
Bleached hair that snaps does not need more product. It needs the right products in the right order, and most of the time the order is what is missing.
Here is the sequence, and the reason each step comes where it does.
What bleach removes
Lifting opens the cuticle and takes out pigment. It also takes out lipids and weakens the protein structure that holds the strand together. What is left is a fiber that is more porous, more elastic in the wrong way, and less able to hold anything you put on it.
Porosity is the word that matters. Porous hair absorbs fast and loses fast. That is why a treatment feels amazing on day one and gone by day four.
The order, and why it is not negotiable
Step 1: clear what is in the way
Product film, hard water minerals and leftover styling sit on the strand and block everything else. If you skip this, every step after it works at half strength.
Use an anti-residue wash. Our Kerawell Anti-Residue Shampoo 1L is marked for professional use at pH 7.6, which is the alkaline prep slot before a chemical service.
This is a reset, not a routine. Once, then move on.
Step 2: bring the pH back down
An alkaline wash leaves the cuticle open. Rebuilding into an open cuticle is how you lose the work down the drain.
The Beox pH Equalize Mask 500ml exists for this slot. It resets the pH after chemistry so the fiber is ready to hold what comes next.
Skipping step 2 is the most common mistake in the whole sequence.
Step 3: rebuild the structure
Now the protein work. This is where you put back what the lift took out.
- Beox Peptide Repair System for a molecular rebuild on bleached hair
- Beox SOS Unbreakable Mask 500ml, coconut oil and arginine, for fiber broken down by chemistry or heat
- Beox Versaty Pro Force Keratin 500ml when the protein loss is the main story
A note on protein: more is not better. Hair that has been over-proteined goes stiff and brittle, which looks like damage and gets treated with more protein. If the hair feels rough and rigid rather than mushy and stretchy, it needs moisture, not another reconstruction.
Step 4: put the moisture back
Protein without moisture is a brick. This is the step that makes the rebuild feel like hair again.
Any of the nourishing masks work here. Beox Acai Nutritive Mask 1kg is built for feeding rather than repairing, which is exactly what this slot needs.
Step 5: seal and protect
Close the cuticle and put something between the hair and the next heat pass.
A few drops of Beox Argan Oil 90ml on the ends, or Beox Be Coat Finishing Mist 150ml before the iron. Be Coat is the step people skip and then blame the iron.
The single-dose option
For heavily damaged hair, a concentrated ampoule mixed fresh at the moment of application does more than a jar that has been open for months. Beox Açaí Repair Vials come six to a box, one vial per application, and they can be folded into a reconstruction mask when the mask alone is not enough.
What not to do
- Do not smooth hair that is still breaking. Sealing damaged fiber does not repair it, it locks the damage in.
- Do not tone before you repair. Porous hair grabs pigment unevenly and you will chase a patchy result.
- Do not run all five steps every wash. This is a protocol, not a routine.
How often
The full sequence is a reset, done when the hair has clearly lost structure. After that, the maintenance is step 4 and step 5 on a normal schedule, with a protein step every few weeks depending on how the hair responds.
Let the hair tell you. Mushy and over-stretchy means protein. Rough and rigid means moisture.
